SATA HDD-based Virtual Private Servers (VPS)

Our standard Linux and Windows based VPS are powered by Storage Area Network, built with enterprise SATA HDD. The multiple enterprise hard drives configured in RAID 10 give you both speed, reliability and more storage at lower cost. The SATA HDD based virtual servers are available with OpenVZ VPS or as Kernel-based Virtual Machines (KVM). Those VPS which are hosted in our main Midwestern U.S. data center are connected to 100 Mbps Internet ports on our fully-redundant, SLA guarantee network AS46873, which features North American peering. Virtual Private Servers (VPS) - What to Consider?

There is differences between virtualization technologies, which result in the way different types of VPS work. For example, if you need to use burstable memory (RAM) you should choose OpenVZ based VPS. If you need your VPS to be fully isolated from the underlying physical infrastructure, get a Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM VPS). Few more things to consider.

CPU Cores

One virtual CPU core is equivalent to 1 physical CPU core. You can add virtual CPU cores to any VPS plan when you need processing power. On some occasions you might need to upgrade the VPS plan itself.

Storage Type

Some of VPS use storage on stand-alone servers, some use Storage Area Network (SAN). Choose storage type in the VPS order customization page. Chose between enterprise SSD, SAS or SATA storage.

Bandwidth or Data Transfer

It is important to understand how data transfer work. Choose a certain bandwidth commitment in Mbps or go for metered data transfer.
